Two-Bounce Rule

Also called: Double Bounce Rule, Two Bounce Rule

The rule that the serve and the return must each bounce once before they are hit.

The rule that the side receiving the serve, and the side receiving the return, must both let the ball bounce once before hitting it (10.A, 10.A.1, 10.A.2). From the third shot on, you may hit a volley as long as you are outside the non-volley zone (kitchen) (Section 1, 11.A).
