Rally

The continuous play from the serve until the ball becomes dead.

The continuous play from the moment the serve is hit until the ball becomes a dead ball (Section 2, Definitions).

A rally ends not only with a fault, but also when the ball becomes dead because of a hinder, a line call, and so on (9.B, 9.C, 8.F.2).
